I must admit I am surprised. The
Rocky Mountain News is reporting that Governor Bill Ritter has vetoed HB 1072. It may be the smartest thing he could have done in his short career in office. If he had signed it, any claim that he intended to govern as a moderate would have gone out the window as the ink went on the paper.
"
In substance, I agree with House Bill 1072, and I made that clear to labor," Ritter said Friday. But, "there should have been dialogue about it. That didn’t happen."
